I haven't taught this but would be interested to hear from a teacher who has. I saw the film and just wonder how you can bring it into the classroom without it turning into some big debate about the Iraq War.

I showed the film to my 11th grade U.S. History class and it was surprising to see how moved by the topic the kids were. In our school there are no military recruiters, but in the other high school in our town the recruiters are lined up every day.

One of my students said, "They know we're impressionable, thats why they're attacking us."

My only error was not having the lesson plans to go along with the movie.

I would have loved to have this at my school. 98% of students have no idea whats next, vague ideas of college, jobs or military. The military has a lot of sides and usually seniors/juniors only hear the recruiters with the free stuff - this type of education is essential. Also in regards to AGD, I do not see a problem with a big debate in school on the Iraq War
